Brown Bear photography workshop

Brown Bear photography workshop

Brown Bear photography workshop

Join us on this unique workshop for brown bear photography and hopefully sightings of wolves as well. Svein will guide you on this tour and he has a rare amount of experience with brown bears and polar bears as well from many trips into the High Arctic. We will focus on "closeness to nature" and see to that we will have close and great encounters. Photographically we will try to use the Nordic summer night bluish light and sunsets for great pictures.

We will be only 8 people in this group to improve the photo opportunities and the quality in what we do. We will organize it so we have the best photo hides each night with a variety of opportunities, in the forest, on the swamp and in a valley with old growth forest.

Wondering what to expect? Please get in touch for more information at [email protected]

Practical information

The photo hides we will use has room for maximum two persons. They are placed at different locations and after dinner every night the guides at the camp will drive us out there. Several locations makes it flexible for us and we will have the chance to try different hides with different surroundings. I a regular forest, on the swamp area, by a lake and in a valley with old growth forest.

The Arctic Wildlife Tours travel leader has several years of experience from the camp and will advice you what hides to use and how to plan your photography. This workshop will not be about technical settings on your camera but more about how to think for composition and light. We will help of course if there are any questions about camera settings.

Every evening we bring some food, coffe and/or tea and drive out to the hides. We will spend the night there. It is possible to sleep in the hides and if there are two persons one can be awake and one rest until something happens with wildlife. Before breakfest in the morning we will be picked up by the guides and go back to the lodge for a nice breakfest. During day time we edit pictures, sosialice or maybe try to rest.

May 3: Arrival to Kajaani Airport, Finland. Transportation to the lodges.
May 4 - 8: Photography activity every night from after dinner until breakfest
May 9: Transportation to Kajaani Airport in the morning after breakfest. Travel home.
