Arctic Wildlife Tours offer professional Golden Eagle photography hides in Norway mountains. Stay in an exclusive and old fashion cabin during the nights and spend your days in the professional hides close by.
Professional Golden Eagle Photography hides
The Red Cabin we use for accommodation for some customers is an authentic Norway cabin. Today we use it for wildlife photographers and birders that want to share some time together with the territorial pair of Golden Eagles in the area. The Golden Eagle Photography hides are nearby around 300 meters away. The consept is to walk to the hides or be transported by snowmobile in the morning and spend the day there. In the evening you walk out or we pick you up.

We have worked with these eagles for many years and they are not shy like many Golden eagles can be. This pair is fairly tolerant to what we do in the hides and for remote controlled cameras in all sorts of variants. It makes golden eagle photography easy and flexible. The hides are situated around 450 meter above sea level and its snow covered from November to late April. The best part of the season is from early December til late February.Â
Siberian Jays and Grey-Headed Woodpekcers
Other species you can see from the same hide is among other birdlife Siberian Jays. They visit the hides regularly. Some years we also have Grey-headed Woodpeckers there. The main focus is the Golden Eagle photography, but Siberian Jays are beautiful and in between its fun to work with them.

Because of logistics with transportation by snowmobile
we strongly recommend a stay over two days and nights.
This will give the best photographic result.

Closest airport: Trondheim Airport Værnes. 30 minutes driving from the airport to the destination. Easy connection from countries within the EU.
What to expect?
Itinerary
The hides is located only 30 minutes driving by car from the Trondheim Airport at the farm Meådal in Norway. In addition it is 15 minute transportation by snowmobile up to the Red Cabin.
