Svalbard expedition ship MS Malmö
This ship has a lovely patina and has been listed as a traditional ship of cultural value since 2004. During 2013/14 she was gently refurbished to retain her original charm. New navigation and safety equipment was installed and the vessel has passed all neccesary inspections and safety checks required. The summer 2014 MS Malmö successfully made her first season in Svalbard as an expedition ship.
MS Malmö is a homely ship of maritime historical dignity, already loved by many.She is decorated in a classic style with an old fashioned Captain´s lounge and beautiful wooden decks. A perfect ship for a small group of photographers that need a lot of deck space, or a small family group looking for adventure.

Cabins
There are five nice twin cabins and one triple cabin. All with upper and lower bunks and portholes with a view. At present five of the passenger cabins are equipped with private facilities. The dining room (mess) has seats for 14-16 guests.
Communication
There is no regular Internet access on board.
Please note that you will have no reception on your mobile phone during the expedition.
Electricity
The electrical supply aboard the ship is 220 volts using Scandinavian two-prong plugs. We recommend that you bring an international adapter if needed.

The ship have 6 double cabins for passengers and two cabins for guides and travel leaders. One of the passenger cabins is possible to use as a triple cabin. Totally MS Malmö is allowed to sail with 12 customers on board.
Recently now in 2020 MS Malmö got new owners and the ship are being upgraded now. Arctic Wildlife Tours will work as the main charterer very close with the new owners and make MS Malmö one of the best expedition ships in Svalbard. In Svalbard everything is about knowledge about the local conditions. From march 2020 the ship will be operated by the new owners who have a long experience on Svalbard from another expedition ship, MS Stockholm.
